Projection Mapping Show at the MDC Freedom Tower

MDC featured a light and animation show projected onto the exterior of the Freedom Tower, bringing 250 years of American history to life through projection mapping; during the Fourth of July celebrations at the Freedom Tower. Created by Miami Dade College gaming and animation students from MAGIC MDC, the show uses one of Miami’s most recognizable landmarks as a canvas to help tell the American story. Students at the Miami Animation & Gaming International Complex (MAGIC) at Miami Dade College created the artwork and for a projection mapping project to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States. Created entirely by MAGIC students under the guidance of the department Chairperson, Mauricio Ferrazza, the production transformed Miami’s iconic Freedom Tower into a living canvas that celebrates America’s history, ideals, innovation, and future through animation and visual storytelling.
