Tech Makers + Creative Thinkers
The MAGIC Department is excited to be part of this year’s Changemaker Week (September 15–21). Our featured event, Virtual Visions: Stories that Spark Change, will showcase the immersive VR simulations developed by MAGIC students in collaboration with faculty across disciplines over the past two years.

Join us on September 18th, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m., and step into interactive experiences that merge storytelling, science, and technology. The projects include:
Created by students at MAGIC and Dr. Davia Holness, this chemistry focused escape room game challenges players to solve content driven puzzles to escape a locked laboratory. Tasks include using property-based clues to identify and correctly place missing elements on the periodic table.
Developed by students at MAGIC, this immersive biology module lets learners explore the human digestive system in VR. Embedded quizzes reinforce learning throughout the experience, making it a powerful tool for self-guided study. The simulation was developed under the guidance of Professor Olubisi Faoye.
Created by students at MAGIC and Professor Manini Nguyen, the game trasnports you to alien worlds where by finding a series of objects and solving a series of Math Factors, it will get you back home.
MAGIC Lead Faculty: Prof. Silvia Sayas and Prof. Mel Tomeo
Music Supervisor: Dr. Susan Epstein – Garcia, NWSA
Department Chairperson: Mauricio Ferrazza
The event is posted on the Changemaker Hub and will also appear on the MDC Wolfson Calendar. Come see how MAGIC students are harnessing VR to inspire learning and spark change.
