The MAGIC Halloween Hackathon has proved, yet again, that it’s the event where creatives and developers come to unlock new dimensions of innovation and creativity. With more than 180 participants from middle and high schools, and colleges from Miami and Florida, there was no lack of energy and enthusiasm when students were given the go ahead to begin the 24 hour tech marathon.
Project submissions were unprecedented, with more than 40 game projects, 15 animations and mixed realilty simulations.
The 5th edition of the annual event at Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus in downtown Miami, featured key sponsors including Stem Legacy, the Miami DDA, Microsoft, Gato.us, City of Miami and brought in industry pros Elbert Perez, Senior Partner Engineer at Unity, Denise Mendez, Principal Software Engineer @ Microsoft Mixed Reality as judges at the event . During the night long event, industry partners facilitated workshops and teams received mentorship and guidance during project development.
