Miami, Fl, Oct. 6, 2022 – Miami Dade College (MDC)’s Miami Animation and Gaming International Complex (M.A.G.I.C.) will be hosting a Halloween Hackathon from Friday, Oct. 28 6 p.m. till Saturday, Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. at the Chapman Center, located in MDC’s Wolfson Campus in downtown Miami. This event is free and open to the general public.
The 24-hour event will judge projects in the categories of Games, Animation and Mixed Reality andit is open to attendees from all backgrounds, genders, and locations. There is no age restriction to attend, but under age participants require a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.
The M.A.G.I.C. Halloween Hackathon was organized by students, members of the M.A.G.I.C. Club, a student organization that seeks to supplement the curriculum of the M.A.G.I.C. program by gathering current and prospective students to learn from sources outside of class.
Guest judges of the hackathon include Conrad Montgomery, Vice President, Current Animation at Nickelodeon and Bill Buckley, Animation Director at First Contact Entertainment. Winners will receive prizes by Microsoft Corporation including laptops, Wacom Tablets and Nintendo as well as round trip tickets to anywhere in the United States on American Airlines.
