Tech Makers + Creative Thinkers
Miami Dade College (MDC) and Florida Atlantic University (FAU) signed an articulation agreement that gives MDC students graduating with an associates’ in Animation and Game Art and Game Development and Design a seamless transfer pathway to pursue a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree in Multimedia Studies with a concentration in Film, Video, and New Media (FVNM).
Students pursuing an AS degree at the Miami Animation & Gaming International Complex would matriculate at MDC for 4 semesters. Upon completion, MDC graduates would seamlessly enroll at FAU to complete the remaining 5 semesters of the BA in FVNM. FAU will accept major-specific courses completed at MDC to count towards the Production and Contexts area of the FVNM major. This also includes a waiver of the SCMS requirement that students take 12 upper-division credits in the College of Arts & Sciences but outside of the School of Communication and Multimedia Studies. However, students may still need to complete additional upper-division coursework to meet FAU’s minimum 45 credit minimum.
