The MAGIC Summer Camp encourages high school students to embark in a transformational experience through “Animation”, “3D Game Design” and “Esports” summer camps focusing on storytelling, 3d modeling, coding, game design, character animation and creating interactive simulations for Virtual and Augmented reality platforms. One of the great things about attending the MAGIC Summer Camp is that it provides each student with an established path for personal growth and learning.
At MAGIC, the Miami Animation & Gaming International Complex at Miami Dade College, we encourage and inspire kids and teens to become the next generation of developers, animators, video game designers, programmers and mixed reality creators. Our MAGIC Summer Camps feature hands-on, project-based learning infused with the latest in the creative industries, animation, video game development, VR, 3D printing technology and equipment. Our state of the art labs are equipped with industry standard technology and software, a motion capture studio, audio recording studio and screening room.
Esports Camp
Students ages 14+ will immerse themselves in the world of competitive gaming at this exciting esports camp designed for all-skill level players. Make new friends, have a blast and be a part of Miami Dade College Esports safe and supportive gaming community. Coaches will guide players through games, drills, and strategies in a fun and competitive environment.
Animation Camp
Students ages 14-19 will get an introduction to character design and animation using Autodesk® Maya®, the application used by top video game development and film studios. Skills development will focus on the use of Autodesk ”Maya” and Adobe Photoshop. This class is project based; students will have the opportunity to complete a portfolio of their own animation.
3D Game Design Camp
Students ages 14-19 will learn the premier 3D modeling, animation, effects, and rendering software packages on the market. Using the industry-standard, intuitive toolset featured in Autodesk® Maya® realistic 3D models will be created and prepare them for game play in a gaming engine. Skills development will focus on the use of Autodesk ”Maya” and Adobe Photoshop.
