SUMMARY:2020 United States presidential election
DESCRIPTION:The 2020 United States presidential election is scheduled for Tuesday\, November 3\, 2020. It will be the 59th quadrennial presidential election. Voters will select presidential electors who in turn will vote on December 14\, 2020\, to either elect a new president and vice president or reelect the incumbents Donald Trump and Mike Pence respectively. The series of presidential primary elections and caucuses are being held from February to June 2020. This nominating process is an indirect election\, where voters cast ballots selecting a slate of delegates to a political party’s nominating convention\, who then in turn elect their party’s nominees for president and vice president. This is the first presidential election since 1976 not to include a member of the Bush\, Clinton\, or Paul political families on the ballot. The winner of the 2020 presidential election is scheduled to be inaugurated on January 20\, 2021. \nElection Day Voting\nThe polls are open on Election Day\, from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Any voters waiting in line at 7:00 p.m. will have the opportunity to cast a ballot. \nIf you do not know where your polling place is\, contact your county Supervisor of Elections. You can also find your precinct and polling place on your county Supervisor of Elections’ website or by using the Voter Information Lookup. \nWhether during early voting or on Election Day\, you will be asked to provide at the polls a valid photo ID with signature. Any one of the following photo IDs will be accepted: \n\nFlorida driver’s license\nFlorida identification card issued by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles\nUnited States passport\nDebit or credit card\nMilitary identification\nStudent identification\nRetirement center identification\nNeighborhood association identification\nPublic assistance identification\nVeteran health identification card issued by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs\nLicense to carry a concealed weapon or firearm issued pursuant to s. 790.06\nEmployee identification card issued by any branch\, department\, agency\, or entity of the Federal Government\, the state\, a county\, or a municipality.\n\nIf your photo ID does not include your signature\, you will be asked to provide another ID that has your signature. \nIf you do not bring proper ID\, you can still vote a provisional ballot. As long as you are eligible and voted in the proper precinct\, your provisional ballot will count provided the signature on your provisional ballot matches the signature in your registration record.

SUMMARY:2021 Pitch Practice Workshops with Drew Tolman
DESCRIPTION:Animation industry pro Drew Tolman will show you how to get your story pitch polished and ready for the 2021 Pitch Week at MAGIC. \nCome prepared with your pitch\, but be prepared to work hard to improve it. This workshop is unique and it has been created for MAGIC students determined to bring their story into the light. \nPitching skills will allow you to tell your story and be persuasive in a clear way that will hold your audience captive\, whether you’re pitching ideas\, products\, your company\, or yourself. Why\, then\, do most pitches fall flat? They fail to engage the audience emotionally and be utterly irresistible when answering the audience’s all-important question of “what’s in it for me?” \nWhat you need to do is structure and deliver your story in a very simple\, straightforward way that reels people in\, makes them care deeply about your topic\, and gets them craving to hear what you’re offering. This applies to any delivery method – when writing\, speaking one-on-one\, or presenting to a group. \nDrew Tolman\nAnimation Producer/Executive Drew Tolman has 20 years of experience making family blockbusters in both development and production for Fox\, Disney\, Universal and Warner Bros. She has helped build three animation studios and has managed nearly every department at one point or another. Currently\, Drew is Line Producing Disney Jr’s preschool show called T.O.T.S. \nIMDb Filmography \nLinkedin \nWhen\nPitch Practice workshops is every Monday from 4:30PM – 6:00PM EST starting on January 18th\, 2021 until April 7th\, 2021. The 2021 Pitch Week at MAGIC is scheduled for April 12th\, 2021. Selected pitches will present to our industry partners\, animation and gaming studios on April 14th\, 2021. Results will be announced during the Summer Term. Selected pitches will be produced during the 2021/22 Academic Year at MAGIC. \nFrom Pitch to Production\nWatch past projects produced at MAGIC for animation and gaming. WATCH HERE. \n\n

SUMMARY:The Pitch Event – Industry @ MAGIC
DESCRIPTION:Short-films\, video games or immersive simulations are produced at MAGIC as a capstone project during the second academic year. All students are granted  the opportunity to pitch an idea for a project\, selection is done in two phases: The first  selection panel is composed by MAGIC staff\, faculty\, MDC administrators and members from the community actively engaged in the arts\, film\, animation or video game production. Selection is based on having an original idea\, strong and defined characters\, production feasibility and the potential to elevate MDC MAGIC and our community through its message. \nOn the second phase\, selected students pitch their story to executives and professionals from animation studios currently partnering with MAGIC. The selection is then made based on their commercial prospects\, ability to engage an audience and a story line which allows further development. Univision Communications\, Inc.\, VIACOM CBS Networks Americas\, Nickelodeon\, Film Gate Miami\, Rakontur Studios are some of the companies participating at the event in 2020. \nFor more information click here
