DESCRIPTION:Short-films\, video games or immersive simulations are produced at MAGIC as a capstone project during the second academic year. All students are granted  the opportunity to pitch an idea for aproject\, selection is done in two phases: The first  selection panel is composed by MAGIC staff\, faculty\, MDC administrators and members from the community actively engaged in the arts\, film\,animation or video game production. Selection is based on having an original idea\, strong and defined characters\, production feasibility and the potential to elevate MDC MAGIC and our community through its message. \nOn the second phase\, selected students pitch their story to executives and professionals from animation studios currently partnering with MAGIC. The selection is then made based on their commercial prospects\, ability to engage an audience and a story line which allows further development. Univision Communications\, Inc.\, VIACOM CBS Networks Americas\, Nickelodeon\, Film Gate Miami\, Rakontur Studios are some of the companies participating at the event in 2020. \nFor more information click here

His directing credits include: Hellboy Animated for Starz\, Curious George Back to the Jungle for Universal\, Disney’s Hercules series\, Jackie Chan Adventures for Sony\, Scooby Doo Where’s My Mummy for Warner Brothers\, Mickey and the Roadster Racers for Disney and Stretch Armstrong for NETFLIX.\nHe also Produced and Directed Balto: Wolf Quest and Balto: Wings of Change for Universal. Phil began his career as a storyboard artist. Credits include: Darkwing Duck\, Winnie The Pooh and The Lion King II. Phil created the main title for The Spectacular Spiderman\, and storyboarded most of the musical numbers in the film SouthPark: Bigger\, Longer\, and Uncut.\nPhil won an Emmy award for his work on the CBS special Boo To You Too Winnie The Pooh\, was nominated for another Emmy for Hellboy: Sword of Storms and was awarded a Humanitas Prize for producing Balto: Wolf Quest. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun Friday on November 8th with a feature presentation from local artist Jesus Suarez. Jesus will be on hand to demo some projects and show you some next level tips and tricks inside Cinema 4D and Octane Render\, a powerful combo for 3D art and design. As a bonus if you attend you’ll receive a discount code for his Octane Course. \nJesus Suarez is an Art Director and 3D Generalist from Venezuela but currently residing in Boca Raton\, FL. He’s been working in the industry for over 8 years and has had the chance to collaborate with clients like HP\, ACCN\, SECN\, Yahoo Sports and UBER to name a few. Most recently he was part of the team that put together 2019’s TEDX Legacy titles. He enjoys working in Look Development but he’s also very versatile with Motion Graphics. His software of choice is Cinema 4D\, Octane and Redshift and lately he’s been learning to use Substance Designer as part of his arsenal.
