Top animation and video game development industry professionals attending the conference are being hosted by the InterContinental Miami.  \nWhile animations on the LED walls of the InterContinental Miami was designed to interact with the city\, animations created by students at MDC MAGIC will celebrate the art of animation\, displayed on monitors throughout the hotel lobby. The kick off and the turning of the lights will be on September 29th\, at the InterContinental Miami lobby at 7PM.

DESCRIPTION:SHOWCASING ART CREATED THROUGH CODE BY GIRLS\nJoin us at MAGIC — MDC’s state-of-the-art Miami Animation & Gaming International Complex — for the 2nd annual Code Art Miami event! We showcase art created by girls through computer programming and bring awareness to the need for more gender diversity in computer science. Event proceeds go towards a scholarship fund for a woman enrolled in one of MAGIC’s two-year animation and gaming programs. \nCode Art Miami highlights the creative side of coding and provides a vehicle to inspire girls and young women to learn to code and to showcase their creations. It also fosters a sense of community among the participating student groups and paves the way for future collaborations. \nThe inaugural Code Art Miami event was held on February 6\, 2016. It was a great success! There was a digital art exhibition with over 100 student submissions\, a speaker symposium\, interactive displays\, and the announcement of the contest winners. To further the cause of gender parity in computer science\, we also raised proceeds at the event for a scholarship fund for women enrolled in one of MDC MAGIC’s two-year animation or gaming programs. The event raised enough funds to fully fund a two-year scholarship for one female student.
