Univision Communications Inc. is an American media company serving Hispanic America. Dating back to the first Spanish-language television network in the U.S. in the early 1960s, UCI has evolved into a multimedia company with 16 broadcast, cable and digital networks; 61 television stations; and online and mobile apps, products and content creation facilities in Miami, New York and Los Angeles. UCI’s headquarters is in Midtown Manhattan, New York City.
THE UNIVISION FELLOWSHIP
Univision will place an MDC graduate as a Fellow at its national headquarters in Miami for a period of six months, with a possible six-month extension. Fellows will work as full-time, temporary employees and be paid a weekly salary. Univision will provide training and orientation when Fellows begin the program. Fellows will experience the same levels of supervision and evaluation as regular employees. At the completion of the Fellowship, Fellows may be considered for a regular position at Univision.
Fellows working during Summer/Fall 2016 will be assigned to the Univision Digital News Department. Fluency or a high level of proficiency in written and spoken Spanish is required. Univision is looking for highly driven multimedia journalists who are proficient in digital storytelling, shooting and editing. Writing skills are a must. Digital Fellows will be working on Special Projects for Univision News and Fusion’s digital platforms. Fellows will be required to have knowledge in data visualization, infographic design and the ability to craft stories through visual and interactive media.
